Sept. 28, 2023 — Kansas home values will continue to appreciate in the coming year, according to the 2024 Kansas Housing Markets Forecast series published by the Wichita State University Center for Real Estate.

Sept. 21, 2023 — The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded $150,000 to Wichita State University to assist in providing resources and support for small businesses and startups focused on STEM and research and development.

Sept. 18, 2023 — The community will soon have a new restaurant to choose from when Two Hands Corn Dogs opens on Wichita State University’s campus Friday, Sept. 22.

Sept. 11, 2023 — Wichita State University is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university’s annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

June 30, 2023 — A group of graduate students from Wichita State University’s Department of History is chronicling the history of the LGBTQ community in Wichita.

May 21, 2023 — Wichita State graduate student Billy Berue will enlist in the President’s Own United States Marine Band beginning in June. The prestigious band was established in 1798 and is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.

May 19, 2023 — Marie Bukowski has been named the next dean of Wichita State University’s College of Fine Arts, effective July 9, 2023.

May 18, 2023 - Dean Rodney Miller will retire in June following 19 years leading the College of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. During his tenure, the School of Digital Arts was created and enrollment in the college has grown to over 1,000 students.

May 18, 2023 — Wichita State University was awarded $50,000 in prize money to catalyze relationships and develop Growth Accelerator Partnerships.

May 9, 2023 — Shocker graduate Alissa Haddock has spent her whole life battling liver disease. Now she has a Wichita State diploma and a new liver to help her start the next phase of her life.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. He served as Student Body President and came to appreciate the caring atmosphere at Wichita State. John is one of more than 1,500 students eligible for spring 2023 graduation.
